Searching for and evaluating academic sources (ST0.70) In-Person

Success in most university assignments is heavily dependent on good literature searching. And yet, this is something that often lets students down. This workshop will take you through the key elements of searching and evaluating academic literature, providing a refresher on the basic and introducing you to new options.

This workshop will cover:

1: Developing an Effective Search Strategy: Learn how to identify key terms, use advanced search techniques, and navigate academic databases to find high-quality sources relevant to your dissertation.

2: Evaluating Source Credibility: Not all sources are created equal! This session will guide you in assessing the reliability, relevance, and academic value of the materials you find.

3: Managing and Organising Your Sources: Explore tools and strategies for keeping track of your research.
